Mobile Website

Project

mindfulness

Our customers used the mobile website more than most. We knew they found it difficult to compare prices using our existing desktop site on mobile. We needed a mobile-only website (responsive was in the future) but without changing the current site! Plus it needed to have as much content/functionality as possible!

Method

service_toolbox

We worked with an external mobile-focused agency who did a great job on the technical aspects but failed to deliver on the design side. We chose to ‘scrape’ the site to create a mobile version. I created a complete end to end UX to include all as many parts of the site as we could while improving the presentation and interface

Outcome

Elevation

  • A big increase in sales through mobile devices.

  • A mobile solution that worked on new devices as well as older devices such as soap bar phones and Blackberrys.

  • Innovations in filtering for products that were also added to the desktop site.

One of the biggest challenges for a mobile experience was including full faceted filtering.

As we iterated we included design along side the wireframes.

We usability tested the filtering and made changes that also fed back to the desktop site.

Small alterations were made to the flows of the website, including the checkout.

Because of the development process detailed wireframes were needed.
